I first started setting up and running choirs in 2014, working for Tenovus Cancer Care. I helped to create four brand new choirs in Surrey, Sussex and London for people affected by cancer. Since then I have been passionate about collaborating with health and wellbeing-related organisations to spread the message that singing as part of a group is hugely psychologically and mentally beneficial.
In June 2021 I launched Sing out Sutton - a brand new community choir with wellbeing at its heart.
The choir is open to all, including self-classified 'non-singers' and we have a great time bringing fun, joy and the love of singing to our local community. We meet on Thursdays, 5.30-7pm in Sutton.
I help groups and organisations bring music into their own communities by offering advice and guidance on how to set up their own wellbeing community choir singing ventures.
I work with multiple organisations helping to create one-off or longform singing for wellbeing choirs for staff, hospital patients and members of the public. If you're interested in starting a singing project, I'd love to hear from you.
